MAGMA-AMGM CELEBRATES CANADIAN MULTICULTURALISM DAY Back to News

On November 13, 2002, the Government of Canada, by Royal Proclamation, designated June 27 of each year as Canadian Multiculturalism Day.

Canadian Multiculturalism Day is an opportunity to celebrate our diversity and our commitment to democracy, equality and mutual respect and to appreciate the contributions of the various multicultural groups and communities to Canadian society.

For over 30 years, MAGMA has existed for just one reason: to welcome newcomers from around the world, and help them become valued members of the Canadian community. For this event, we want to celebrate the great and colourful contributions that people from all over the world have made to our culture, society, and economy; therefore, we will be hosting a short series of dance demos & workshops, followed by a World Music Dance Party with DJ MKW, and interactive art painting! There will be an area for children’s activities, as well as an opportunity for the public to stop by and mingle, learn more about MAGMA’s work, and take an active pause for dancing to different musical flavours! The event is free and open to the public, and the details are as follows:

Date: Tuesday, 27 June, 2017 Time: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Location: Oak Lane, Moncton, NB Light refreshments will be provided.
